Vertigo is proud to confirm its third Factory rider for 2020. Pau Martínez will stay with the brand in the International and National scenes after the great success achieved by the young prospect in his first campaign at the helm of the Vertical. In 2020 Martínez is expected to remain in the Trial125 class of the TrialGP World Championship and jump from the Youth class to TR2 in the National series.
In his maiden season with Vertigo, Martínez has clinched the Youth European Championship in style by winning three out of the four races of the calendar, securing the title with a second place in the last round held in Brezova, Czech Republic. His second title in 2019, the Junior Spanish Championship, almost followed the same pattern as the first one with Martínez delivering an outstanding winning streak in the first six rounds to wrap up the title in Sigüenza despite there is still one round remaining.
With Pau Martínez staying green for 2020, Vertigo keeps within its Factory team three key riders in its project, being Busto, Abellán and Martínez riders not only with a bright future ahead but also a great present that guarantee Vertigo good results and an important brand exposure.
Pau Martínez: “I’m super happy to stay with Vertigo one more season. It is a great team and together with them and my personal sponsors MRW and Jitsie, we have accomplished great results in my first season riding the Vertical by winning the Youth European Championship and the Junior Spanish title. I’m really looking forward continue like this in 2020!.
Vertigo is delighted to announce that Berta Abellán will remain with the team in 2020. Keeping her in the Factory Team was a priority towards the next season, so now that the agreement has ben reached it means another exciting new for Vertigo just a week after the team also confirmed Jaime Busto’s contract extension.
Since she joined the green family in 2018, it has been a successful journey for Abellán and Vertigo. In her first campaign she clinched the European Championship in the premier class, finished runner-up in the TrialGP Women World Championship and was crowned Spanish Champion. A list of achievements she has extended throughout 2019 by finishing the TrialGP campaign replicating her runner-up result from 2018 and taking a brilliant victory at the Trial des Nations in Ibiza together with Team Spain.
Abellán has experienced an impressive progression during the last two seasons, becoming one of the best female riders in the international trials scene. The Vertical has proved to be the perfect bike for Abellán to keep developing all her skills and great potential, and with 2020 being the third season the duo will enter together, perspectives couldn’t look better for both parties.
Berta Abellán: “I’m stoked to continue with Vertigo for a third consecutive season. I’m super happy with the bike and the team, and next year I hope to make a new step forward and get closer to Emma in the TrialGP World Championship. I’m really looking forward to beginning the tests with the 2020 bike and to give my best, I’m training really hard and I hope everything goes as planned. I’m really grateful to Vertigo and excited for what is to come.”
Vertigo is pleased to announce its new deal with Jaime Busto. After joining the factory team in the middle of the 2019 campaign, Busto will continue to ride green at least until 2021 after signing a two-year extension of his contract, with an optional 3rd one.
The rider from Vizcaya is known as one of the hottest talents on the international trial scene. Despite being only 21 years old, he already has plenty of experience competing in the premier class of the indoor and outdoor series, where he has proved his amazing talent and great determination to reach the peak of the sport. Although he joined Vertigo just a few days before the 2019 TrialGP World Championship season opener, Busto has finished 4th in the standings with a fantastic 2nd place as season’s best in France. In the Spanish Championship was able to clinch Vertigo’s maiden victory in the premier class in Entrimo, and is currently sitting in 2nd place with just one round remaining.
With Busto committing his future to Vertigo, the green brand consolidates the strenght of its project in the racing scene as a Factory team capable of fighting for the top spots in any race, holding a great balance between present and future like Busto embodies.
Jaime Busto: “I’m stoked to extend my partnership with Vertigo. After a year getting used to the new bike I feel we’ve reached a great level toward entering in full swing into the next season. I’m sure we are gonna get top results. The bike works really well, and thanks to Vertigo’s engineers it is still improving despite already being super competitive. I’m motivated and I strongly believe next season will be a great one”.
Vertigo wishes to formally announce that its partnership with Jorge Casales will be drawn to a close at the end of this season, moment when the two-year deal signed by both parties in 2017 officially expires.
Together with Vertigo, Jorge Casales has proved a great competitiveness in the TrialGP Series and the Spanish Championship at the helm of the Combat Vertical, with many fantastic performances that led him finish in an outstanding 5th place the 2019 campaign in the World Championship and currently sit in 4th in the National Series.
Beyond results and a meticulous professionalism, Jorge Casales has demonstrated throughout this two years a close commitment on developing the Vertical together with Vertigo Factory’s team staff and engineers, what allowed the brand to keep improving its production models. Both parties have experienced a positive maturing process, which opens big future perspectives for the team and the rider in the new challenges they are about to begin.
Vertigo is extremely grateful for the two fruitful years spent with Jorge Casales, wants to highlight the positive attitude and determination he has always shown in his daily work and wishes him the very best in his new challenges as a professional rider.
Vertigo lived a frenetic weekend as the calendar jointed three important events during the same weekend. The Hotel Puig Francó and the Noassar Area facilities held the Camprodon Trial and the Vertigo Test Days, two fantastic days fully packed with trials action in which the Vertical 2020 models were available to test and the brand new Titanium R 2020 was unveiled to the attendees. The most advanced trials bike was also under the Vertigo tent in Ibiza, where the 2019 TDN took place with several international riders enjoying support services from the brand and Berta Abellán clinching the tittle with Team Spain. Both the Vertical 2020 and the new Titanium also took the stage at the prestigious Dirt Bike Show in the UK alongside with the Vertical R and the Mini Vandal.
On Saturday Noassar received a great amount of riders for a new edition of the Camprodon Trial. More than 150 competitors divided in three different classes didn’t want to miss the opportunity to live the experience in one of the best trials areas in the world. Twelve sections made up the two-lap trial. The event had Vertigo Factory Team riders Jaime Busto, Jorge Casales and Pau Martínez also enjoying the stunningly beautiful trial. On Sunday it was Vertigo’s customers turn, all them enjoyed free breakfast, and after that were given green light to ride through four new sections specially prepared for the occasion together with brand’s Factory riders while testing the new Vertical 2020 models.
In Ibiza Berta Abellán was able to take back the Nations tittle together with Team Spain after loosing it to Team Great Britain in 2018. The 2019 Vice-World Champion delivered an excellent performance and so did the Spanish squad, that played in a league of their own all day long to clinch a well deserved victory. Vertigo offered support services to its international riders over the weekend while having the new 2020 models displayed in the paddock.
Vertigo also experienced a very productive weekend at UK’s Dirt Bike Show, the most prestigious off road show in Europe. Bran ambassador Dougie Lampkin and Vertigo UK’s crew did an excellent job and prepared a nice-looking stand to welcome everyone who came to see the Vertical 2020 and also the new Titanium R.
