Vertigo is pleased to announce the signing of David Avendaño. The agreement was reached jointly withVertigo’s dealer Non Stop Bikes, for which we will see Avendaño competing in the Spanish Championship and the Trial2 class of the TrialGP series.

At the tender age of 17-years-old, Avendaño already carries a great list of impressive achievements, starting with the 7 Venezuelan National Championships he claimed between 2007 and 2013. He was also crowned U21 Latin American Champion at the early age of 10 and three years later, when he was 13, he was able to wrap up the title in the premier class. In Spain, he has a runner-up finish in the Youth Class, while in Andorra he has taken a total of 5 Arinsal 2 Days Trial wins in several of its classes.

With this announcement, Vertigo confirms its commitment to give young talents the opportunity to continue growing and improving in the most demanding competitions of the trials industry. In 2019, Avendaño will make his debut in the Trial2 World Championship, a highly competitive class where he will be able to keep developing all his potential.

The Vertigo Experience event, which will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of November, is going to be the first official outing for Avendaño with the Vertigo, what means he will join his new teammates Jorge Casales and Berta Abellán as well as Vertigo’s Team Manager and ambassador Dougie Lampkin for the first time.

VERTIGO EXPERIENCE 2018: Nov 9 – Nov 11

After the huge success that was the first edition, from November the 9th to the 11th Vertigo will organize its second edition of the Vertigo Experience. This a Vertigo feast, but overall, a trials feast where all the fans and riders can enjoy a weekend plenty of activities and a lot of trials riding. Once again, the event will be located at the magnificent facilities of the Hotel Puig Francó and the Noassar Center.

Activities will kick off on Friday. This opening day is set to receive international importers and dealers at the Hotel Puig Francó, where several technical and mechanical talks about the 2019 Vertigo models will be organized. After that, there will be the possibility to have a ride around the Noassar Trial Center alongside with Vertigo Factory riders.

On Saturday Vertigo will have all the 2019 models at disposal of all the riders and trial fans. Everyone will have the chance to have a ride on any model at the Noassar Center sections, always joint by Vertigo Factory riders Jorge Casales, Berta Abellán and the 12 Times World Champion and SSDT Winner Dougie Lampkin. This constitutes the perfect opportunity to test in first person the handling of the whole 2019 range, featuring the Combat Vertical in its 3 models, the 300cc, the 250cc and the 125cc, and the Mini Vandal, in its 50cc and 65cc versions. In order to assure that every rider has enough time on the bike it will be necessary to register previously to the event. The testing day will begin at 10:00 and will end at 16:00.

In addition to the full 2019 Vertigo range, riders will be able to test yet another model, which is the Crossbow Bullet, the brand’s E-Bike. This MTB constitutes the perfect option to enjoy nature in a more attractive way than with a conventional bike. The Bullet will be available as well so everyone will have the chance to test it.

Finally, the best day for Vertigo’s customers will arrive on Sunday with the celebration of the Trial for Vertigo riders. There will be a circuit with several sections at the uncountable Noassar Center’s areas, some of them being outlined at the same points where the 2017 and 2018 TrialGP World Championship took place. An experience like that demands a proper breakfast, that is why Vertigo will provide all the riders with a great Catalan Sausages breakfast to fill the deposits. The price per rider will be of 15€, and it will include number plate, breakfast and insurance. The trial will start at 10:00, after breakfast, and finish at 14:30 approximately.

Last weekend took place another edition of the popular and world-famous Scott Trial. This singular event is not only about who is able to make it to the finish line with fewer marks, but also about who is able to do so with the less time possible. Dougie Lampkin was once again the man to beat, as he was arriving at this year’s event as the 2017 edition Champion and with the SSDT 2018 victory under his belt.

Conditions during race day were the toughest ones in years. The rain left high water levels on the local rivers and streams, driving riders and bikes near the limit. Lampkin dealt with all the situations in style to reach a new victory. He was the rider with fewer marks, 55 (5 due to time penalty and 51 coming from the observers), with TrialGP riders Jack Price (65), the time setter, and James Dabill (80, 22 due to time and 58 on observation) finishing 2nd and 3rd.

At the helm of his Dougie Lampkin Replica, Lampkin himself showed one more time the reliability and competitiveness of the Vertigo in the most demanding conditions of trials. Neither the water, which was covering almost all the bike in some sections nor the generous amount of mud could stop the British Champ to reign once again at the Scott Trial. What’s more, this victory allows Vertigo’s Team Manager and ambassador to score an amazing double-double by having won the last two editions of the SSDT and the Scott. At his forty-two years old, this 2018 Lampkin has also won the Arinsal 2 Days in August, so he continues to prove that he is in shape to keep extending his legendary record book.
